I've never made a pitch like this before, and, frankly, I'm a little scared to do it…
I'm in the midst of a career crisis, and this is me reaching out for help.
Here's the deal: Time is short for all of us, and I'm realizing I don't enjoy transactional work as much as I used to.
I crave deeper connections: with you, with my family, with my work, with my environment.
I'd like to ask you to do something that might seem weird as an "ask"…but I promise you it won't be weird: Schedule a phone call with me.
You have lots of experiences, talents, skills. And I want you to share that with me. In return, I'll do the same. Hopefully, it'll lead to a stronger human connection.
That's it.
We can talk about life, the universe, everything.

- Or about how I helped build an iPhone + Android app for only $3k!
- Or about how I paid $8 for a website one time.
- Or about how your website can make you more money (spoiler alert: nothing special – it just takes some directed work).
- Or about my experience as a baseball umpire!
- I can even share why I quit politics to become a sports reporter! (and then how I leveraged that into my current career as a WordPress pro!).
- Or about how my biz partner and I recently turned a $5,000 startup business into $500 CASH and how you can too! (ugh!)
Is this a scammy request that's really about Toby finding more work? I'd be lying if I said that wasn't in there somewhere…BUT I also believe work is one place where we put our values to practice. And I value deep connections with humans, teaching & learning from others, and receiving/delivering deep experiences with others.
I've been fortunate & lucky to build a company that affords me the freedom to send an email like this and potentially build connections with you that go deeper.
What do I hope to get from a call with you? A human connection. Maybe an intellectual & emotional spark.
Seriously? That's it? Yup.
